Rivers United begin their 2026/27 CAF Champions League campaign on Saturday, travelling to Côte d'Ivoire for the first leg of a preliminary-round tie against FC San Pedro.
The match kicks off at 4:00 pm local time (5:00 pm Nigerian time) at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro. The Confederation of African Football has appointed a Gabonese officiating team for the fixture, with Cregue Flaury Moukagni as centre referee, assisted by compatriots Amos Abeigne Ndong and Junior Assoughe, and Pierre Ghislain Atcho as fourth official. Benin's Innocent Atindehou will serve as match commissioner, with Algeria's Mohamed Lamine Benaissa as referee assessor.
The Port Harcourt-based side will look to secure a favourable result away from home before hosting the return leg in Nigeria between September 11 and 13. A win in the tie would move Rivers United closer to the group stage of Africa's premier club competition, a stage the club has reached in previous campaigns.
